The word for it series borrows its title from Guinevere Glasfurd Brown’s short story that she wrote for my exhibition Surface Detail at The Origins Center at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2015. It inspired my own exploration of colour through the application of thin layers of oil paint and the use of masking tape to obscure and reveal the shifting hues.
